DENVER SUMMIT OF THE EIGHT EVENTS ANNOUNCED, Central Library. The leaders' meetings will take place in the General Reference Room, located on the first floor. The leaders' working lunch will take place in the Vida Ellison Gallery, which is on the seventh floor.President Clinton will host President Boris Yeltsin of the Russian Federation, President Jacques Chirac of the French Republic, Chancellor Helmut Kohl of the Federal Republic of Germany, Prime Minister Jean Chretien of Canada, Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto of Japan, Prime Minister Romano Prodi of the Italian Republic and Prime Minister Anthony Blair of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the Denver Summit of the Eight in Denver, Colorado, June 20, 21 and 22. In addition, Prime Minister Willem Kok of the Netherlands, who serves as President of the European Union Council, and Jacques Santer, President of the European Commission, will represent the European Union at the Summit. The following constitutes the planned activities for the leaders, the foreign and finance ministers and the leaders' spouses.
Friday, June 20, 1997:
-- A welcoming reception for the leaders will be held at the Governor's Mansion in Denver. Built as a private home in 1908, the mansion was donated to the state in 1959 to be used exclusively as the governor's home. Gov. Roy Romer and Colorado's First Lady, Bea Romer, currently reside at the mansion.
-- The leaders will gather for dinner at the University of Denver's Phipps House, located in Denver's Belcaro neighborhood. The Georgian-style mansion, built in 1933, now is part of the Lawrence C. Phipps Memorial Conference Center.
Saturday, June 21, 1997:
-- The leaders will meet at the Denver Public Library
-- The leaders will enjoy dinner with their spouses at The Fort Restaurant in nearby Morrison, Colo. The restaurant, modeled after Bent's Fort, a mid-19th Century Southeastern Colorado trading post, is well known for its cuisine, such as buffalo, elk and beef.
-- The leaders and their spouses will attend a night of uniquely American entertainment at the National Western Complex. "Saturday Night at the Summit" will allow the United States to highlight its culture, entertainment and hospitality to the leaders. In addition, foreign and finance ministers, ambassadors and Denver Summit of the Eight Host Committee members will attend.

-- The foreign ministers will attend the welcoming reception held at the Governor's Mansion in Denver.
-- The foreign ministers will dine at the Museum of Western Art, which houses one of the largest collections of Western art in the nation.
Saturday, June 21, 1997:
-- The foreign ministers will gather at Denver's Top of the Rockies for meetings. The ministers will meet on the 37th floor and will take a working lunch on the 38th floor.
-- The foreign ministers will dine with the finance ministers at Denver's exquisite Buell Mansion. The Georgian Revival, 14,000-square-foot house, built between 1912 and 1925, was home to architect Temple Hoyne Buell.
-- The foreign ministers will attend "Saturday Night at the Summit" at the National Western Complex.
