Prime Minister of Canada to Visit Washington on September 24

Chretien, Bush will consult on ways to fight terrorism

Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien will visit Washington on September 24 at the invitation of President Bush, the White House said in a September 21 press release.

Prime Minister of Canada to Visit Washington

President Bush has invited Prime Minister Chretien of Canada to come to Washington for a working visit on Monday, September 24. The Prime Minister has accepted. The President and the Prime Minister will meet in the Oval Office, followed by a private lunch.

President Bush wants to tell Prime Minister Chretien personally how moved America has been at the outpouring of support and solidarity from the Canadian people and government after the attacks on September 11. The President also wants to continue our close and ongoing consultation with the Prime Minister as we look together at next steps in the war on terror.
