Armitage Meets Pakistani Officials to Discuss Cooperation

Following is a statement from the office of the State Department spokesman about a meeting between Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage and Pakistani officials in Washington September 13:

Deputy Secretary Armitage's Meeting with Pakistani Officials

On September 13, Deputy Secretary Richard Armitage met with Pakistani officials to continue discussions on the current situation, including cooperating on our response to the heinous terrorist attacks of September 11. Noting President Musharraf's statement of condolence and support in the fight against terrorism, Mr. Armitage provided the Pakistanis with a list of concrete actions we expect them to take to support our efforts.
