Text: United States, China Forging Strong Commercial Bonds, Evans Says

U.S. and Chinese companies have signed three new business-partnership agreements, according to a June 22 press release from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans, who was present for the signing of the agreements, called them "an example of the strong commercial bonds being forged between the United States and China."
Evans said the partnerships would create jobs, thereby contributing to American economic growth and development.
Beijing was the second stop of an 11-day, multi-country trip for
Evans. He will meet with officials in China, Ireland and Mexico.

THAT WILL GROW AMERICAN JOBS
Contracts Promise to Strengthen the Sino-U.S. Economic Relationship
BEIJING, CHINA - Commerce Secretary Donald L. Evans today presided
over the signings of three U.S.-China business agreements in Beijing.
"These partnerships will grow American jobs and contribute to
America's economic development," Evans said. "These signings are an
example of the strong commercial bonds being forged between the
United States and China."
The President's Export Council (PEC), a senior advisory group that
provides recommendations to President Bush on trade matters, joined
Secretary Evans for the signing ceremony. The PEC is currently on a
fact-finding visit to China, and the members are expected to report their findings to the President upon their return to the United States.
Today's signings included the following U.S. company business
agreements:
United Solar Ovonic, LLC (MI), and Dawson International, Inc. (IL),
signed an agreement anticipating the supply and installation of a
300 kW solar photovoltaic lighting system for the Beijing New
Capital Museum.
General Electric Company (CT) and the Guangdong Nan-Dian Power
Equipment Co., Ltd. signed a contract for the supply of two 500
kV "series compensation systems" to increase the power transfer
capability of the China Southern Power Grid Company's Louping-Baise-
Mawo transmission corridor.
Honeywell International Inc. (NJ) signed a global supply agreement
with Haier Group to provide Honeywell's environmentally friendly
refrigerants and other chemical products to Haier.
