Statement By Philip T. Reeker, Deputy Spokesman
United States and China To Resume Human Rights Dialogue
The United States and China have agreed to schedule the next round of the China Human Rights Dialogue before the end of the year. The last round took place in Washington, D.C., in October 2001. Both sides have agreed that this round will be held in Beijing during the week of December 16, 2002. Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Lorne W. Craner will lead the upcoming dialogue for the United States.
