Dumping Duties Imposed on China Auto Replacement Windshields
(Imports injured U.S. industry, commissioners rule) (160)

Washington -- The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has voted to impose antidumping duties on U.S. imports of automotive replacement glass windshields from China.

In a March 19 3-2 vote the commissioners made a final determination that the imports injured or threatened U.S. industry.

Imposition of antidumping duties requires final affirmative determinations both from the Department of Commerce on dumping and from the USITC on injury.

The Commerce Department had earlier made its final affirmative dumping determination, calculating the dumping margins as follows: FYG, 11.80 percent; Xinyi, 3.71 percent; Benxun, 9.84 percent; Changchun, 9.84 percent; Guilin, 9.84 percent; Wuhan, 9.84 percent; TCGI, 9.84 percent, and China-wide, 124.50 percent.

Dumping is the import of goods at a price below the home-market or a third-country price or below the cost of production. A dumping margin represents by how much the fair-value price exceeds the dumped price.
