Foreign nationals who are members of the families of victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington and who wish to travel to the United States will receive expeditious processing of their applications, according to a September 20 State Department release. The release notes that nationals of a number of countries may qualify for travel to the United States for up to 90 days without a visa.

Visa Applications for Family Members of Victims of the September 11 Attacks

Some of the family members of victims of the September 11 attacks are foreign nationals who reside overseas and want to travel to the U.S. to be with their families. Those family members should contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the country where they reside in order to apply for a visitors visa. Visa applicants should present documents normally required for a visa interview. The nonimmigrant visa sections at U.S. missions will process such applications expeditiously.

Citizens of the following countries are eligible to travel under the Visa Waiver Program and do not require visas for visits of up to 90 days:

Austria
Belgium
Brunei
Denmark
Finland
France
Germany
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Liechtenstein
Luxembourg
Monaco
Netherlands
New Zealand
Norway
Portugal
San Marino
Singapore

Switzerland
United Kingdom
Uruguay
