Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has delegated Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott to represent the United States at the G-8 Foreign Ministers meeting July 12-13 in Miyazaki, Japan.

Albright will remain in the United States to participate in Middle East negotiations at Camp David.

DEPUTY SECRETARY OF STATE STROBE TALBOTT TO ATTEND G-8 FOREIGN MINISTERS MEETING

At the request of Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott will represent the United States at the G-8 Foreign Ministers meeting July 12-13, in Miyazaki, Japan.

Secretary Albright will remain in the United States to participate in Middle East negotiations at Camp David, Maryland. The Secretary had been greatly looking forward to the Miyazaki program prepared under Japan's leadership and regrets that she is unable to travel to Japan at this time.
