Text: Statement on Albright Travel to Venice, India, Geneva

The State Department March 14 announced that Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will be in Venice for a conference March 17-19 before leaving to join President Clinton's party on his visit to India. On March 23 she will leave India for Geneva where she will address the 56th session of the UN Commission on Human Rights.
Following the address in Geneva, the department said, she will rejoin the Clinton party in India.

STATEMENT BY JAMES B. FOLEY, DEPUTY SPOKESMAN
SECRETARY TO TRAVEL TO ITALY AND SWITZERLAND
Secretary Albright will travel to Venice March 17 through 19 to participate in an Aspen Institute Italia "European Dialogue" conference. While in Italy, Secretary Albright will meet with Foreign Minister Dini.
The Secretary will depart from Venice March 19 to meet President Clinton's party in India. She will travel from India to Geneva on March 23 to address the 56th session of the U.N. Commission on Human Rights. She will then rejoin the President in India.
