Jordan's King to Meet with Bush in Washington February 1(White House announces visit plans January 24) (190) King Abdallah of Jordan will have a meeting and working breakfast with President Bush in the White House February 1, it was announced January 24. Following is the text of the White House announcement: (begin text) THE WHITE HOUSE Office of the Press Secretary January 24, 2002 STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY King of Jordan to Visit Washington President Bush will welcome King Abdallah of Jordan to Washington for a meeting and working breakfast on February 1. This will be the President's third meeting with the King. Jordan is a strong ally and partner of the United States, and has been a significant contributor to the campaign against terrorism. The United States and Jordan share a broad range of bilateral and regional interests. The President looks forward to his discussions with the King, including on the campaign against terrorism and the situation in the Middle East.
