
William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton -- the President of
the United States was
born in 1946 in
the small town of Hope, Arkansas. He attended Georgetown
University in
Washington, D.C., won a select Rhodes Scholarship to study
at Oxford
University in England, and later went to Yale Law school.
Clinton returned to
Arkansas to teach law school, and was
later elected Attorney General of Arkansas. At 32-years old, he
became the youngest governor
in the U.S. As governor of Arkansas, he concentrated on improving
the
state's
educational system and building better roads; after one defeat,
he was re-elected Governor three times. In 1992, Clinton ran for
President, was nominated by the
Democratic Party, and defeated President George Bush in the
general election.
On January 20, 1993, Bill Clinton
was sworn in as the 42nd President of the United States, and
moved
into the White House with his wife,
Hillary Rodham Clinton and their daughter Chelsea.
