STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY
President of Indonesia to Visit Washington
President Bush will welcome President Megawati Sukarnoputri of the Republic of Indonesia to Washington for an official working visit on September 19. The transition to democracy by Indonesia is one of the most recent important developments of this time in East Asia. The President looks forward to discussing with President Megawati how the United States can best support her continued efforts for political, economic, and financial reform.
