The Council of State Governments
The Council of State Governments (CSG) is a united front of state leaders which works to evoke change in the federal government, such as the 1995 enactment of the federal Unfunded Mandates Act. The United States Conference of Mayors
The Conference of Mayors aids the development of effective national urban policy, strengthens federal-city relationships, ensures that federal policy meets urban needs, and provides mayors with leadership and management tools of value in their cities. The Urban Institute
The Urban Institute is a nonprofit policy-research organization that investigates the social and economic problems confronting the United States and the government policies and public and private programs designed to alleviate them. The Institute's objectives are to sharpen thinking about American society's problems and efforts to solve them, improve government decisions and their implementation, and increase citizens' awareness about important public choices.
